About Us
For more than a century, we’ve been building our reputation as a leader in sustainable wood products. We’re proud of how we carefully manage an incredible resource in a sustainable way to deliver quality building products and solutions to our customers.
Why Idabel?
Our Idabel facility is one of ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ’s top-performing mills. We began operating in 1996 and our people produce high-quality dimensional lumber made from Southern yellow pine. Our top customers include Home Depot, Hixon and Builders FirstSource.
Safety, Culture & People Principles
Nothing we do is more important than making sure everyone goes home safely every day.For us, safety isn’t just a priority, it’s a core value we never compromise.
Our leaders are committed to making sure our culture is welcoming, inclusive and supportive —a place where you look forward to coming to work, and feel valued and appreciated for your work, and empowered to share your ideas for how we can be even more successful. Each day, we’re guided by our People Principles—Appreciate, Respect, Listen, Communicate and Value. These principles are the foundation of how we treat each other and work together to create a positive and productive workplace.
Work Schedule, Bonuses & Paid Time Off
We understand the importance of work/life balance and strive to set clear, consistent expectations about work schedules. Our production schedule is typically four 10-hour shifts (either a day shift or a night shift) Monday-Friday, which lets you enjoy three days off following your shift. Our maintenance team typically works Thursday-Sunday. If work schedules need to be changed, we provide advance notice, and when the mill achieves its operating goals, you’re eligible for a bonus. We also offer competitive benefits, a vacation accrual program, and up to four weeks paid parental leave upon the arrival of a new child.
Investing In You, Our Mill and Our Community
Developing and investing in our employees is one of the most important things we do, and we do it better than our competitors. We focus on improving technical acumen through reliability culture training, reliability boot camps, lumber 101, maintenance training and technical training. We also grow our people through cross-training, career planning and formal leadership development opportunities. To get more involved in the business, you can volunteer to serve on the safety or community giving committee.
The company continues to invest in upgrading equipment and technology at our mills. Idabel currently has a $2 million capital project that is expected to begin in 2021. It includes installing a new log deck feeder and upgrading the planer infeed.
Our employees live and work in the communities where we operate and are deeply committed to citizenship. They volunteer at local food banks, outreach centers and fire departments, and they serve as Chamber of Commerce members. We support these activities through our WAVES grant program for volunteers.
In the last five years, we donated more than $175,000 to causes and charities in communities across Oklahoma, and we supported our employees’ donations to causes they care about through our Matching Gifts program.
